    Mr and Mrs

I take as many pictures of my family as I can. Documenting “moments in time”, freezing that memory, to be remembered and cherished years from now. I have been married 42 yrs and have 45 photo books. Of those 45 books, 41 of them are the typical leather bound album, which holds app 300 photos. I have all the negatives(pre digital cameras) and disks, in addition to storing everything on two hard drives. One I keep in a fire proof box, the other in my lock box at the bank. Clearly my pictures are a priority. Several years ago we took a family vacation to Disney World and I stepped…

    My beauty routine-one month in

One month in and my take is…..I like everything! I chose products based on their ingredients and thought it would be helpful to research “why” those ingredients are important and the role they play in keeping our skin healthy. I am going to give a run down of all the products I use and their significant ingredients. I truly love the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gentle Cleansing Lotion. I ran out and accidently tried the regular cleanser by mistake and will be returning to the gentle version next time. My antioxidant serum is Timeless 20% Vitamin C+E Ferulic Acid Serum. Vitamin C is an antioxidant which speeds up the production of…

    My beauty routine

This being my first beauty post, I thought I should start with a little background. I have long subscribed to a name brand beauty line, which I love. For the past thirty years I have used many products in the line, rarely venturing out to try anything new. This past Christmas my husband bought me an elliptical(another up and coming post under fitness) and I have been watching youtube videos whilst I exercise. My viewing has taken me to dog training seminars, hair tutorials, exercise and alas, beauty videos. My favorite beauty youtuber talks about the importance of vitamin C, collagen, retinol, ferulic acid, glycolic acid, peptides and many more.…

Bachelorette party on St Simons Island

A magical weekend celebrating my precious daughter-in-law to be. St. Simons Island is absolutely beautiful and our home away from home was spectacular! My beautiful daughter-in-law. Our home for the next four days. Our first day was spent leisurely relaxing between the pool or the beach! Friday night we had dinner out at a local favorite, The Rooftop and it was delicious! Our second day was spent touring the island. With low tide, we were actually able to walk along the ocean to downtown. Our mode of transportation was a delightful “trolley car”. St Simons Island, one of the famed Golden Isles, was aptly called “San Simone” by 16th century…

Atticus is five months old today

It is hard to believe my sweet puppers is five months old today. He is truly the sweetest boy. Having a puppy is much like having a newborn. That first night I was up six times between 11pm and 7am. His crate is next to my side of the bed and each time he cried, I took him out. And he went potty every time. He never had an accident in his crate and started sleeping thru the night, 11pm-7am within two weeks. It took a good 3-4 weeks at bedtime though, for him to go in the crate without dancing around, crying in utter objection. I had been watching…

    Syttende Mai

What is Syttende Mai you may ask? Syttende Mai is to Norway, what the Fourth of July is to America! The little town which I live in was settled by Norwegians and that is why we celebrate Syttende Mai. My little people love a good craft and what better than an edible one. We decided to decorate sugar cookies with the Norwegian flag and started with a roll of slice and bake cookie dough. Super easy and very yummy. I purchased red, white and blue frosting in a tube which was fun and perfect for little hands to maneuver. The finished cookies were adorable and the craft was a hit,…

    Hoppy Easter take 2

We celebrated Easter this year with brunch, an egg hunt and making a delightful vase. Brunch was delicious and as always way to much food. Followed by an Easter egg hunt. We filled the eggs with something extra this year to make it a little more interesting. Making the vases was super easy as all we needed were mason jars and craft paint! The day was beautiful and we enjoyed sitting in the sun for the afternoon.

    Hoppy Easter

This was actually last years Easter craft but it was so much fun I wanted to share it with you. My little people are very creative and the supplies were super easy, as most were household items readily available. We started with milk cartons, crafted into the desired shape. Here you can see #2 and #4 chose to make traditional baskets. We used torn squares of tissue paper dipped in glue to cover the entire basket. Once finished, I covered them with a thin layer of mod podge and set them outside to dry. The final step was to add eyes, ears, whiskers, beaks, noses, feet and Ta Da!!!!! We…

    Dinner and a movie night

One of our most favorite things to do as a family is cook! My husband LOVES to cook and all of our little people enjoy helping as much as they can. Pizza is about as perfect a food as you can get and the children love creating their own. This time we did homemade deep dish Chicago pizza! My husband collects and restores cast iron pans, so they each had their own pan to make their pizza in. Dinner was huge success! Popcorn and a movie afterwards makes for a perfect night!
