My beauty routine

This being my first beauty post, I thought I should start with a little background. I have long subscribed to a name brand beauty line, which I love. For the past thirty years I have used many products in the line, rarely venturing out to try anything new. This past Christmas my husband bought me an elliptical(another up and coming post under fitness) and I have been watching youtube videos whilst I exercise.

My viewing has taken me to dog training seminars, hair tutorials, exercise and alas, beauty videos. My favorite beauty youtuber talks about the importance of vitamin C, collagen, retinol, ferulic acid, glycolic acid, peptides and many more. She does extensive comparison testing, sharing the results with her subscribers.

She is about my same age and beautiful. I decided all her hard work is clearly paying off so why not try a few of the same products she has found useful.

The cleansing category has been the one area which I frequently “lived outside my box” and tried something different than my name brand line. While I always came back, my skin would feel somewhat dry after washing until I applied my moisurizer. This probably was not good.

My beauty youtuber uses a balm in the evening to remove the makeup before washing. I do not like the balm. I am using it because I received it in a free gift. It is one more step which I am not sure is necessary but will let you know.

After rinsing off the balm, I use Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gentle Cleansing Lotion. I like it! It does not foam up, which feels weird but maybe that is why my face felt dry. She talks about how it is not good to strip your skin of its natural oils.

Following that in the morning I use an antioxidant serum: Timeless 20% Vitamin CE Ferulic Acid Serum. Next comes a peptide serum: Timeles CoEnzyme Q10 Serum.

I now appy my name brand antiaging serum, moisurizer(with sunscreen) and makeup.

The evening routine after cleansing, uses No 7 Advanced Retinol 1.5% Complex every other day, a nighttime renewal serum and moisurizer.

I have been using these products for the last three weeks and will continue until I have to reorder them. At that time I will do another beauty post and let you know what I think.
